Due to the pandemic, this is the first Way Out West to be held in three years time. Last time was 2019 which featured a lot of rain and not too many exciting bands (at least according to this old grumpy).
Here we go again for another year at Way Out West. I think it’s the 8th time I visit the festival and it’s getting a bit predictive, but there were a few new additions to explore.
I had the pleasure of attending the Travel Slideshow Tour by Henry Rollins. The venue was DR Koncerthuset, a nice building in the Ørestad area of Copenhagen.
There are several bars related to Depeche Mode around the globe. The Depeche Mode Baar in Tallinn is probably one of the better known, together with the bars in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. But the one in the capital of Latvia is not to be missed!
So here we are again at Way Out West. For each year I’m starting to feel more like the old men Statler and Waldorf in The Muppet Show. I’m getting older and the bands booked are getting a bit less interesting.
I’ve spent the weekend in Copenhagen, visiting the 25 year anniversary celebration of Club Metropolis. The club started in 1993 at Barbue, a venue located on the first floor of Huset KBH at Rådhusstræde 13.
After the rain havoc last year, I prepared for the worst and went muttering on the tram towards this year’s edition of Way Out West.
Despite being placed in the middle of nowhere, Calgary is an unexpected gem with a lot to offer. As I walked across the bridge over Bow River, I realized just how compact the city center is.
Kent is one of the most popular bands in Sweden and tonight they played their last gig ever in Gothenburg, as part of their farewell tour.
