No retirement in sight for Stallone

Now this was among the most unpredictable news I’ve heard in a while. After a decade of really awful productions (not that any of his eighties’ movies are any good, either), Stallone returns to the basics and goes for a revitalization of the two characters that made him famous: Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. That’s right, say hello to Rocky 6 and Rambo 4. Unfortunately this is not a joke.

And that’s not all! There’s also talks of doing a Predator remake, even though I doubt that the governor of California will have the guts to face another trophy-collecting hunter. Now, if only the Governator would do T4 all would be well again and no one would ever bother him about King Conan anymore.

Sigh. Will we never see the end of this avalanche of remakes, sequels and prequels? If this will go on much further I fear that Mel Brook’s old “Rocky five… thousand” line will be anything but a joke.
