Meeting the robots at Way Out West 2012
Time for another year at Way Out West, the cozy and predictable festival in the forest. It’s always a bit of a challenge to have an early slot at a festival, since people tend to arrive later in the afternoon.

Amphi Festival in Cologne
Cologne in July. Most people come for the cathedral, the river cruises, maybe a Kölsch or two. Me? I came for the darkness and industrial noise at Amphi Festival, the annual pilgrimage of the black-clad faithful, where leather is a second skin and daylight is considered an occupational hazard.

Banff Mountain Movie Festival
Banff is more than just the sound of Nightcrawler. It is also a town in Canada which runs a film festival during one week every year, aptly named the Banff Mountain Movie Festival.

Kalabalik festival in Alvesta

Rammstein fires up Metaltown
The 2009 edition of Metaltown saw artists such as Marilyn Manson and Slipknot, but I was looking forward to this year, since it was time to finally be welcoming back the German fire monsters of Rammstein.

Vince festival in Karlskrona
There is a new electronic festival in Sweden. The Vince festival, named after legendary Vince Clarke, is located in Karlskrona.

Best concerts of 2009
This year has seen a lot of concerts around the world, perhaps in some way related to the decrease in record sales which forces the artists to hit the roads. Regardless of the reason I estimate that I saw about 80 gigs during the year, and here are some of the highlights.
