As I was walking around in St Lucia, it felt like everything was out to get me. Found a beautiful beach with endless views of the Indian Ocean, but there was a sign with warnings of shark, crocodile and hippo, as well as strong currents.

After being away from civilization for a while, I believed that the city of Durban would be a sight for sore eyes. But even though one may be fooled by the pristine beaches and tall buildings, the urban area can be deceptively rough around the edges.

I finally found myself on the edge of Africa. Cape Town is often called the Mother City, and after having seen the view from Table Mountain I can understand why. But in terms of geography, the main price lies a bit south of the city.
