The Station at Jazzhuset

The dynamic duo behind the much-missed club Romo Night are back. Their new venture, The Station, picks up where the old club left off two years ago, carrying the same spirit into a new chapter.

It’s a welcome addition to Gothenburg’s alternative nightlife, joining the ranks of BodyBeat, Target, Synthklubben and the other stubborn survivors keeping the scene alive. The soundtrack is exactly what you’d expect: generous servings of eighties synthpop, electronic classics and enough dance-floor anthems to make standing still seem like an unreasonable choice.

The venue in itself couldn’t be more fitting. Jazzhuset has been part of Gothenburg’s musical landscape for over four decades, its walls having witnessed countless memorable nights, including some of the earliest performances by Broder Daniel. Places like this seem to absorb history. Every generation leaves a few echoes behind before handing the room over to the next (just remember to wash your hands after touching the walls).

With any luck, The Station will add a few memorable nights of its own.
