I have arrived in Andorra, one of the smallest states in Europe. Hidden away high in the Pyrenees mountains, the country is secluded and seldom visited. The capital, Andorra la Vella, is one of the world’s highest capital cities at an altitude of 1029 meters.
"We roamed the damp and chilly tunnels and stumbled upon a large barrel delivered by Napoleon himself."
"I woke up freezing on a Persian rug with aching back. Behind a corner I saw the damned rooster that kept me awake during many hours."
"As I entered the heavily guarded Rotunda in the center, some of the most famous documents in the world laid before me."
"Hundreds of houses were quickly build, but unfortunately all of it was burned to the ground in 1611 by Danish forces."
"Not far from Sauternes is the village of Saint-Émilion, also a famous wine region but what got me hooked was their impressive limestone caves."
"Even though the main town is surrounded by mountains with names such as Sulphur Mountain, it is as far away from Mordor as one could imagine."
