In 1624 the Swedes began construction of a heavy defense structures around Gothenburg. With a bit of help from Dutch engineers they created one of the most fortified cities in Northern Europe.

Sun and mud at Arvika festival
Arvikafestivalen is usually an uneasy mix of scorching sun and rain storms from hell. It doesn’t help with the heat that we’re all dressed in black and paler than Marilyn Manson, but just like last year there were moments of thunder rain inferno.
Metaltown 2009
The onslaught of summer heat has arrived in Gothenburg and it’s festival time. I missed Marilyn Manson last time he was in the city, but this time he performed at the Metaltown festival, on a pier so close I would have heard it from my balcony so I just had to be there.

The time had come to visit the overpriced frenzy of Way Out West. It turned out to be just as I thought it would be. On one hand, it’s quite comfy to visit a festival at the heart of your home town.
Return of Ostindiefararen
After two years at sea, the large ship Ostindiefararen today reached it’s final destination Gothenburg. It had sailed from Gothenburg to Guangzhou (Kanton) in China, visiting the ports of Recife, Cape Town, Jakarta, Shanghai and many more on it’s voyage.
Report from Tinitus festival 2004
The Tinitus festival is one of the best gatherings in the country for fans of electronic music. A lot of people had showed up at Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm this weekend to see a fairly nice lineup of bands.
Arvika festival 2004
The forests of Värmland were filled with people attending the annual Arvikafestivalen this weekend. One of the main attractions happened to be four old men from Germany, the legendary Kraftwerk. Florian Schneider brought a knitted hat and the radioactivity was there for you and me.
