Time to play the angel
The release party for the new album “Playing the angel” by Depeche Mode was upon us and the stage was set for the all-star tribute band tentatively called 101, consisting of Robert from Elegant Machinery, Alexander from SPOCK (replacing Jarmo from Mr Jones Machine), Johan from Diskodiktator and Magnus from Top Gun (yes, brother of Jay-Jay).
To the pleasure of most of the crowd, they mostly performed old-school tracks from “Speak and Spell” and beyond, such as Work hard, Nodisco and Everything counts. The newest song was Enjoy the silence from 1990! Despite bad sound quality and technical problems they did a good job on stage, even though Alexander’s rendition of Somebody was probably the worst Depeche cover I’ve ever heard.
