The city of Naples is famous for a lot of things, but the thing most people think of is pizza. The first ever Margherita is said to have been served at Brandi, Julia Roberts famously had pizza at L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Eat Pray Love and Anthony Bourdain himself visited Pizzeria Pellone in 2011. So I had to check it out.
Roaming in Valletta
"I passed the statue of Jean de Valette, the 49th Grand Master who laid the foundation stone to Valletta in 1566, to gaze at the golden interior of St. John’s Co-Cathedral, where he is buried in the crypt."
Vineyards of southern France
"Not far from Sauternes is the village of Saint-Émilion, also a famous wine region but what got me hooked was their impressive limestone caves."
The lakes of Lombardy
"The town of Como, largest settlement around Lake Como, attracts a lot of people with big wallets. But I preferred to take the funicular up the mountain to the Brunate region, where you get a much better view of the lake."
Road trip across the American Southwest
"We drove along Route 6, Route 66 and Route 666. If there was a Route 6666, we must have missed that turn."
The fairytale castles of Sintra
"The Portuguese town of Sintra is famous for many beautiful castles. Palácio Nacional da Pena is arguably the most stunning of the lot. "
Good morning Montenegro
"One would almost think that all this secrecy was made on purpose to keep the hordes of tourists away. Let them all perish in the crowds of Dubrovnik while the people of Montenegro can enjoy their beautiful country on their own. Or something like that."
