I’m back from the festival in Hultsfred, an annual event that died last year but got resurrected by the Scorpio necromancers to once more lay waste to the shores of lake Hulingen. Since Arvika festival was canceled a few weeks ago, this was one of the few places left in Sweden for festival concerts.
The onslaught of summer heat has arrived in the city and it’s festival time. I missed Marilyn Manson last time he was in Gothenburg, but this time he performed at the Metaltown festival, on a pier so close I would have heard it from my balcony so I just had to be there. It was quite entertaining but I think Manson has passed his prime long time ago and the last two albums are rather dull.
I usually never write about politics, but this is an exception. In the song “America is not the world” from 2004, Morrissey sings: “In America, the land of the free, they said, and of opportunity, In a just and a truthful way, But where the president is never black, female or gay”
