I just got back from a trip to the Champagne region in northern France. We visited several houses and it was very interesting to compare the giants of Moët & Chandon to smaller vendors such as P.M. Roger & Fils. Moët & Chandon has a large building complex in Epernay, but the most impressive feature is their underground wine cellars, spanning 28 km of tunnels!
Eating my way through Basque country
"Not too bad to wash it all down with a local Txakoli, the young white wine typical of the Basque country."
The sound of Salzburg
"It is based on the true story of Maria von Trapp, even though I suspect she didn’t go singing alone in the mountain ranges."
Chilling in Chile
"My weary feet has reached Valparaiso. After almost a month of traveling across the South American continent I realize that this is as far south as I will come, due to weather conditions."
Greetings from Moldova
"But Chisinau is an unexpected gem in the wilderness. Even though Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe, the capital has its fair share of impressive buildings and post-Soviet architecture."
Wazzup in Vaduz
"Vaduz Castle is overlooking the town from a hill, a short walk from the center. It’s really a postcard view with the alps in the background, which I’m sure the prince enjoys as he sips his morning coffee while towering above his loyal subjects."
Memories of Skye
"The countryside is charming and some places even have coffee."
