The @media conference, or Web Directions as it is officially called these days, was once one of the pinnacles of web development. The celebrities of the web community gathered once a year and confirmed their positions as generals in the web standards war. In 2006 my colleague Roger Johansson from 456 Berea Street was one of the speakers. Today five years later, a lot has changed.
Getting lost in Yazd
"Navigating on random while surrounded by staring old men, pointing their crooked fingers at the Godzilla Viking in surprise. It feels like I’m walking around in Mos Eisley."
I still love you, New York
"Now I’m back and our roles are somewhat reversed. Like River Song and the Doctor, we meet again under different circumstances."
"The soundtrack of the day was Radioactivity by Kraftwerk, as we rolled into Chernobyl this morning."
The urban maze of Tangier
"There are exciting things waiting around every corner and my bucket list is long, but the Medina has a mindset of its own regarding time and space."
Memories of Skye
"The countryside is charming and some places even have coffee."
Road trip across the American Southwest
"We drove along Route 6, Route 66 and Route 666. If there was a Route 6666, we must have missed that turn."
