What to do on a sunny day in Tallinn? The answer is obvious: Dress all in black and visit the infamous Depeche Mode Baar. I guess the poor bartender never knew what hit him as thirsty Swedes in black came looking for beer in broad daylight.

This shrine of devotion to the Basildon guys has been open since 1999. It moved to the larger premises currently occupied at Voorimehe 4, just around the corner from Raekoja square. It’s said that the band visited the place twice during the tours in 2001 and 2006.

Behind the bar is a wall with autographs from various people in the electronic music scene.

Tallinn is also a very beautiful town for a stroll. I enjoyed walking along narrow alleys in the old town and looking at the medieval buildings, but that is another story.

Unfortunately I haven’t been there for five years, but there is a 2022 video tour on their Facebook page.
