The revered Bagpipe Bastards have just finished the Scotland branch of our worldwide tour. We came, we saw and we had a a fistful of haggis. The road was long and we covered like 1500 miles in a week with visits to uncountable cities, towns and villages.
Conquering Machu Picchu
"A life-long dream came true this morning, as I stood upon the mountain looking down at Machu Picchu. I felt like some strange mix between Indiana Jones and a small boy, gazing down upon the final treasure of the Incas."
New Years Eve in Sydney
"Opera House is seen in front of the massive fireworks in the harbor area, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Harbour Bridge."
Eating my way through Basque country
"Not too bad to wash it all down with a local Txakoli, the young white wine typical of the Basque country."
The fairytale castles of Sintra
"The Portuguese town of Sintra is famous for many beautiful castles. Palácio Nacional da Pena is arguably the most stunning of the lot. "
The dark days of Sarajevo
"The city survived on the edge of annihilation and has started to recover, but the stone walls still seem to cry out in lament of all the horrible things they have seen."
The lakes of Lombardy
"The town of Como, largest settlement around Lake Como, attracts a lot of people with big wallets. But I preferred to take the funicular up the mountain to the Brunate region, where you get a much better view of the lake."
